Taiwan Summer Vacation – Part 3

Taiwan is a big foodie country. Basically everything we had was tasty and cheap. The food in Taiwan seemed different to Chinese food. I felt the food was less oily. We enjoyed the food in most restuarnts we walked into and here’s a few I’d like to share.

Black and Pearl Teas
We throughly enjoyed the cold teas in Taiwan. There were so many flavours and you can adjust the sweetness and ice to your liking. We liked the teas from the Good Tea Shop near Taiwan Main station and Chun Shui Tang inside CKS Memorial Hall. Try the Kumquat Oolong tea at the Good Tea Shop!

Boiled Dumplings – Shuijiao

On a pouring day we headed over to Qiao Zhi Wei Handmade Dumplings for dinner. We decided to give this place a try since it was a 5 minute walk from our hotel. These were the best boiled dumplings we have ever had. We ordered 30 dumplings, 2 soups and 2 sides dishes and this was plenty for the two of us. It was very cheap, super quick and delicious.

Shin Yeh Restaurant

Towards the end of our trip we had a bit of cash left over so we decided to try some place a little fancier. We found a restaurant called Shin Yeh near Zhongxiao Fuxing Station. The prices were a little more expensive but we still found it cheap compared to Japan. I reccomend the steamed chicken and the green stir-fry vegetables.
